Ann, congratulations for the Feature Critique to Jeroen today! Wow! This is an incredible shot, Ann. The clouds certainly look familiar - usually see this type hovering over the Tehachapi Mts.
You are right, we probably have bumped into each other sometime in the past... this is indeed a very small community.
It certainly seems to be a small world some times.

Thank you all for your comments. Yes the desert has some amazing light to be sure particularly around sunset and sunrise but you never know what could happen at any time.
Gayle - I saw your photo and that too is definately a lenticular cloud. Quite the clouds aren't they. Very impressive. Another place to see them is around snow peaked mountain tops as they develop and with the varied temps up there they tend to form very neat oval and circular shapes and are quuite impressive.
