What some people won't do for a good shot? A half hour hike through snake invested desert? Heck what is behind you or why did you stop? :) Well done. Next time with a bigger car.

What a great picture. Being a geophysicist myself, I think I can appreciate what this detail in the rock texture means. Good work.

Hi Rashed, I didn't think anyone would notice. I'm just taking a couple of days off posting photos so I can catch up on comments. I have many many more photos to post and I will do so in a few more days. I have some stuff to catch up on outside of the computer but as Arnie (the governator) always says - "I'll be BACK"!!
Thank for your kind words and concern.
Cheers from your friend - Ann :)

Thanks for share these images, that they allow who far away lives to appreciate the vision. In Italy, as Patrizio says, these mountains are most famous just for the movies. The colours and light are fantastic. Ciao Ninni

amazing place! the huge shadow creates a great atmosphere in contrast with the sunny spots and the arid plains... it seems that you can put a tiny blue thing in every shot... :)

A fine 'finale', Ann! Amazing rock formation and the car certainly helps us grasp the scale of it! Best regards, Chris

Hi Ann, you're shooting at a grandiose scale! It looks so huge - especially when you see the car! WOW. How great that you went so far away to take the entire rock formation in one shot! The colors are incredible, and the shapes carved by weather are like the columns of an ancient temple. The hike really paid off. What an incredible scenery, no wonder they use it for movie sets. This could be an incredibly beautiful sight from above, from a plane, I imagine. Wonderful capture and great caption!

I'm not sure what I do if I ran across a rattle snake now. I use to kill them but now I only shoot with a camera. I hope I don't run into one but if I do I probably just take a picture of it and leave it alone. Excellent photograph and capture.

Your car is so small against this gigantic formation!! I like the colors of the rock against the blue of the sky. Beautiful shot!! Thanks for the information Ann. Glad no snakes were brave enough to come your way.

Thank you patrizio. as a matter of fact it has been the scene for many Hollywood movies and I should have put that into the "about" information but I forgot. Many famous movie stars have made movies there including many westerns with John Wayne. Sometimes I would go there to hike with my dogs and take photos and they had the entire area closed off to the public for the movie sets.
Thank you for taking the time to view my images and for your kind comments.
Cheers - Ann :)

Spectacular scenery ! Good idea to wait for the shadow, more interesting than brightly lit rock, for sure. What I consider is an even more panoramic format, with a slight sacrifice @ the top. BTW, thanks for the about

Yours is the layered ice-cream and one I saw of Rob's earlier was the neopolitan ice-cream.
The size of the this natural structure goes beyond comprehension. How many days travel involved to move back for the above shot and then rejoin your car??? AWESOME! excellent colours and details and a wonderful informative series. Best wishes sweetie....Ray
