I know when I went to Oregon last time there were forest fires and it really ruined the trip for photographing but its pretty country. Excellent photograph and capture.

What a gorgeous setting, Ann! I really wish I had access to areas like this nearby :(
I really love your composition and the shutter speed used....makes for a wonderful and beautiful effect. As far as being dark, it appears that way on my monitor as well and I really like how Don brightened it up. I think your version does lend to more of a moody feel, though and it isn't at all bad! Laptops are so hard to adjust pictures with...same with flat panels unfortunately.

nice exposure on the water, gues sit was a dull day by the really dark stones?
makes for a great contrast - I ofen head for water features on duller days as yuo're not relying on the sin or light quality as much for an effective shot.
this turned out nicely - diagonal composition and water appearing out of the tyop 1/3 line - all spot on compositionally

Thanks Susie, The digital world is wonderful when all one has to do is right click on the photo them go to properties for all the camera settings information. I just don't think to put all the settings in when I'm posting the photos. This one was 1 second, F22, ISO 400 - Always use a tripod of course. I take dozens of shots of one subject at all sorts of numbers then when I get them onto my computer I see which looks best and do any enhancements on that one image. I usually just keep the one best image but I always keep my originals archived onto CD's. As I get better with practice I'm learning what just totally doesn't work so I avoid those settings now to save time. I'm honing in slowly on what works and what doesn't but it sure does take a lot of practice photos and a lot of time for me. Always enjoy it though. Thanks for stopping by Susie. Cheers - Ann :)

Perfect title Ann. The shutter speed was perfect on this for this effect. I've got a dig Rebel too...do you know what the settings were for this shot? I like it!

i have never seen a real waterfall in my whole life. have seen in movies and pictures. hehe.

Beautiful picture, Ann! Excellent image! You are so good at these waterfalls! I love the green foliage framing the picture, and the foamy, fluffy texture of the water over the black moss covered rocks. And that brown leaf, very exquisite. You won't believe this, but I see a woman's face, sideways, just above that Y stick, between the Y and the brown leaf. Do you see it? Best regards, Ina

Not a problem with you enhancing the image Don. I use a laptop inside a motorhome for the most part and this kind of thing is an ongoing problem for me cause I can't get constant light on my monitor. Some images are OK and some aren't on my screen because of the constant back and forward movement. Sometimes I look at my images on another desktop computer and some are way too bright and I think "Oh Yuk - how did that happen?" then other times they are too dark. My lights/darks are more guess work these days because of my monitor hinderence so I just wing it. I appreciate it when I'm told if it's too light or too dark or whatever. For the most part I'm finding the brightness/contrast problem is a monitor sight problem for and with me. Thanks kindly for taking the time to correct Don. Cheers - Ann :)

I love how slow shutter speeds do this to flowing water. It's alway a nice graceful effect. When they turn out that makes me love it that much more. Nice one. I'm am a Native Oregonian and this one brougt back wonderful memories.Beatuful colors and effect.

Hi Ann, I really like the image, but I see it very very dark on the screen? This may be your plan and if so that's fine, but I guess I would like to see more of the detail( of course it's all there)...
I hope it's OK, I used Adobe-highlights/shadows to bring it up a little.. Sorry if is not your thought?

Mmmm... gotta love those slow shutter speeds. The water is divine and the composition is just perfect. There's something interesting to discover in every inch of this scene. Incredibly clever photography...

Hi Ann, Thanks for making me smile this morning. When I read the title and viewed the shot. I could imagine a milk tanker hidden at the top releasing milk out to creat this. I Love sliky water shot. Great shot control. fantastic Angle, as it makes the eyes flow from the top left to the bottom and then back through to see what you missed. Well see, and perfectly taken.
Congrats with this Keeper! It should be hanging on a wall!!!
