I thought at first that your "Katie" would arouse objections for being too dark, but strolling down I became aware that most of the commentators have accepted your unique style of showing the inside of a person's personality via this kind of dark photo. Thank you for your friendly comment on my "Green iron fence". This one is mainly decorative, but in our country, in which an armed guard has to be posted in fron of each and every event or institution, including schools, malls, cinamas, weddings etc. some fences are vitally important, even the contraversial one that is intended to prevent suicide bombers' crossing into our cities. Best regards, Rafi

Ameed. I like to ensure the true character is revealed. And I feel that that has been accomplished, of that I am proud.

Cool Judi, the slightly darker image, for artform, is nice. For home display tho, prefer color, OK?

Lovely portrait and yes I agree with you - it is the essence of the person, and you seem to have captured just that Margaret

The pinnacle of fine portraiture is to capture not just the physical exterior of the subject but to reveal WHO they are. I like your constant attempts to look beyond the surface to what lies beneath, and search out ways to express a deeper insight, as many other accomplished photographers on UF are able, or at least attempting, to do. I prefer subjects that are not aware of the camera or at least not looking at the lens. Your model seems to just dissolve into the B/G. Very effective low key here. Kurt

What a lovely Portrait Judi, i like converting it to black and white, it adds depth to the character, i like the angle you placed your head and the way she is looking to the horizon, very well done dear, regards,
