Incredible image Jennifer, I was reading your reply to Hiroshi and that is exactly what happened to me in the pictures from my series "My Garden - Stroll down..." When I looked at the computer the picture, my jaw dropped at the surprises I found.
Great colours and detail. Lovely composition.

hi hiroshi - i was so surprised to discover those red socks when i downloaded my photos onto my computer. I wasn't able to see them with my own eyes when taking the photo so it was really delightful to find them there after-all.
thank you so much for your support & comments - i greatly appreciate your feedback.
with best wishes - jennifer

thank you, Reza. The bugs were a joy to behold on my computer screen as i could hardly see them with my eye when shooting. I have been shooting & working on a lot of floral images as i'm in an art show this weekend called "For The Love Of Flowers" & it's been great to hear what works for people & what doesn't hear on usefilm. Thanks for taking the time to comment, i really appreciate the feedback. Now i just can't wait for my own life to settle down enough to give me a little time to look through my friend's online portfolios & comment back!...soon, i hope. All the best - jennifer

Both beauties! I like their little red legs. Also, and this is strange, the way the edges of the petals meet with the deep green of the background is so attractive to me. Everything just glows from my screen.

You have created a stellar floral portfolio, Jennifer. This is no exception as its composition and color scheme is definately not run-of-the-mill. I love the bugs.

thank you, Leah. There's not much i like more than spending time crawling around on the ground looking at the world of flowers, camera in hand. Such a delight! :O)

hi sarah - thanks for your comments. I just seem to love things in soft focus & so very often shoot wide-open to create a very short DOF. The blur in this image is caused by just that - a very short range of DOF & shot in as close as i could get to the flower. I could hardly see the bugs with my eye & was delighted to discover them & their colourful bodies when i viewed my photos on the computer. Such can be the magic of macro work. Thanks, again - all the best - jennifer

It is funny. I get all freaked out if my images are out of focus at all, but here is a terrific example of purposely being out of focus and it looks great! I love the blur of the flower (from the wind?) yet the bugs are right in focus. Great capture. The colors work well, especially with the bug's red legs.
