Like you Chris I'm struggling to catch up and I'm wilting here at the moment but I'd just got to comment on this. For all their beauty rarely do you see a Cotswold village deserted like this. Even though it's a dull day you've exposed it perfectly. The green of the grass shows so well and I like the touch of the light in the porch RH side. Magnificent.

I still like this picture very much and I see your point.

If the water is only 8 inches deep, i might be standing out in the middle of it, doingmy photography. I''m known to do strange things like that. Also in the middle of streets, on railroad overpass bridges, freeways, etc.

Many thanks for the comment, Walt.
I take your point about the bars, but I rather liked the sweep to the left that these help to accentuate.
With regards to a. the person, and b. the boat?
a. I was up too early to see anyone else in this charming Cotswold village. This was taken just before dawn.
b. The water is only about 8 inches deep!
Kind regards, Chris

I like thjis image but Ithink the bars in the foreground are distracting. I might have moved over justa bit to the left toget a stronger leading line from the houses.
I also think it might have been a little stronger, if there had been a person on the sidewalk, or a boat in the river.
But basically, I like this one; I wish i could see what you do.
It's a whole different world.

Walt

Hi Chris, superb image, really well composed and exposure is spot on.

I see you have been real busy in the short time I've been away, I have some heavy duty reviewing to do to catch up ;-)

it will be a pleasure to wander through your new images though ;-)

Wonderful photo Chris, this view reminds me so much of a similar place we have near here in a town called Beverley (not been there for about 14yrs) - but the fishing was pretty good (and free then !!)

Best wishes,
Steve

Kind of moody place... ! Did you take it at 4 o'clock in the afternoon?? I mean...it looks like everyone is indoor..having tea! :-)
I would prefer that too, I guess...it seems abit cold and rainy here.. ;-) A great day for staying in bed...reading a good book! Did you read any book while you were gone???
Hm..
Hope you had a wonderfull trip... nice to see you back... I have missed you

Hugs

This is gorgeous Chris!!!! Crisp colors, beautiful reflective water (looks like a mirror)the detail in the sky, the curvy road leading our eye down the road. Everything is just beautiful! You've made us wish we were there on that rainy day. Dottie
