This is a great capture. Excellent placement in the frame. Tack sharp - just incredible. Nice color, good light - GREAT. I see you shoot with your 300mm alot - how do you like it? Do you have any high end zoom lenses? If so, how do they compare? The quality, sharpness, and detail of your photos is outstanding and I also have the D100 as well as the F100. I was contemplating the 80-400, but you are getting remarkable results with your 300 and I have heard that fixed lenses provide better quality. Any thoughts you may have on this would be great to hear. Thanks.

Great capture! Worth the wait!! I live around many deer here in my Texas hill country, but I've yet to find one when I venture out with my camera.

Wonderful capture, Jim. I agree with leaving the crop as is. The brush and background are not distracting to me personally and I kinda like the way it ties into how his (her) ears are cocked in different directions to catch the sound of predators. Completes the picture, IMVHO.

Great action. You are so lucky to have been ready at the right moment as they move so fast. Excellent color. Everything just right. Don.

I think that this is a fantastic shot. The action is great and the focus on the eyes is outstanding. I wouldnt change a thing! I wouldnt crop any of the background as it tends to make the fawn look a bit smaller, which in real life it is! Great Job!!!

This is about as good as it gets, Jim. Even with the movement you got a really sharp image with nice light and color. Keep up the good work, that 300 is really performing for you.

Excellent capture Jim. You had to have quick reflexes to capture this youngster. Good focus and sharpness.

Jim-- meant to add that I might crop just a bit off the top to remove a little of the distracting brush, but this is nit-picking to be sure-- just a thought. Try it and see what you think. Craig

Great shot Jim. I like your wildlife photos because they are taken in the wild in the animals natural habitat, and that is very hard to do well. For one shot all day-- well it's a keeper-- you got the eyes, and you got the action! I've put you on my "friends" list. Cheers. Craig
