Oh yes, I do understand, dear Aniko! There is no more wonderful experience in this life, at least for me, than the birth of a child. The birth of my own daughter was probably the peak earthly experience for me, and I also had a difficult labor, not three days...36 hours, but I WANTED that baby so much! My doctor said I should have had a dozen children, but I only ever got to have the one. My daughter has five, and I enjoy them so very much!

That must have been a wonderful experience, Dear Shirley. The closest I have come to photographing a labour and birth of a child for someone very dear to me was that of a good friend, and the images are wonderful.. I was also there as a support friend for her :)
Most of the other pregnancies, labours and births I have photographed were actually commissioned... but I could never accept monetary payment for this huge honour!
I once lived with a family (I had not met before, other than at the initial request that I do photograph the labour and birth). The woman was in labour for 3 days, and I stayed and helped look after her 2 other young children as her husband was busy supporting his wife who had a tough labour. Over that time,I felt I had become part of that family and photographically documented as much as I could of the entire event, from staying at home with them through to when she had to go to hospital with complications; and there I photographed the safe arrival of a beautiful baby girl! Very special!
I am rambling on here I know. There have been other such amazing events around labour and birth... but I feel you understand me and why I told you all this. The miracle of new Life is an awesome experience!
Warm Wishes to you my dear friend, Aniko :)

You're welcome, dear Aniko! The only woman in labor I ever photographed was my daughter with her first child.:)

Thank you so much Dear Shirley!
I am currently in PS working on a rather unusual pregnancy image from this same shoot. It is a tad tricky... am not sure if I shoud rescan the image and start over.. lol! But if it works out all right, I am sure you will like it.
I look forward to seeing your pregnancy shots! I very much like the look of a pregnant woman and have some lovely images. I have had the honour of photographing labour and birth too... wow.. what a buzz! But those shots are probably unacceptable here... though as you know Shirley, i always do my best to photograph as "tastefully" and with as much dignity and respect to the people who trust me with such intimacies as possible!
Warm Hugs~ Aniko :)
