Thanks Sam. Unfortunately, I don't have any information. I shot this in a conservatory that contains perhaps dozens of exotic birds (see some others in my recent posts). I am no expert.

Thanks for your comment Dave. Yeah, you are right, I am grateful that they hold still for long periods. Actually, I got a few shots of another heron today again because of this. The color shift is probably due to the fact that the light is coming from the city (hence mostly tungsten light) and my WB was set to cloudy (and I forgot to correct in postprocessing!).

Thanks Kemal. No, I didn't apply grain effect, but the combination of ISO 400, haze, and perhaps so-so sharpness makes it look grainy. I am glad you liked it.

To be honest, I don't know. This was the first time I saw flowers with one of them. I think that most of "those sculptures" are a hobby for a bunch of people. But maybe some have even more special meanings.

Thanks Jim. I agree that more depth of field would have improved the image. I noticed the out-of-focus parts of the blossom too late to go back and reshoot. I should have at least bracketed the aperture.
