About	"Quaresmeira" is the popular name for a whole family of trees and flowers that share the type of leaf seen here. They flower around Lent (in Portuguese, "Quaresma") and hence the name. This is a straight shot. I was in the middle of a field full of these lovely flowers, and the out of focus background is natural. (The same field where I photographed the two "sempre-viva" specimens) Unfortunately not all flowers on this one are at their best, but I think this works to highlight the one that is! No crop or PS trickery. Just some levels and a boost to contrast with curves.
