About Termite mound, cerrado tree and Casca d'Anta waterfall.

Taken one late afternoon. The backlight caused very bad flare in the tree and to the right of the termite mound. I've used Photoshop to retouch that.

Very good lighting, and again a beautiful sky. The composition is good, and the detail in the foreground is very effective.

Love the lush colour through out this photo. It would make a nice calender page.

I just Knew one of those termite hills would come in useful. Do you carry blow up ones in your camera bag. Good pic and interesting inclusions.

Thank you very much for your honesty and candour, Linda. I wouldn't have it any other way from you.

Unfortunately there is no going back. This is the picture that I saw. For me it is about the elements of the scenery all together, not any single one element. It's the mound, the tree, the sky, the mesa and the waterfall. I wanted them tight together.

We'll have to agree to disagree, which is good: it would be spooky and boring if we always agreed!

Thank you most sincerely.

Brazil certainly looks like a beautiful place Angelo... the scenery is amazing! Goodcomposition with the foreground interest and the range of hills leading the eye to the waterfall. Well done!

Angelo, the first thing I thought when I opened this picture was 'nice diagonal with the tree and the termite mound', then I thought 'wow I love those gently twisted branches of the tree", then I thought, but where is the top of the tree? I read your about and saw that you were taking a picture of the termite mound and I read the comments and saw your explanation about the tree, but I gotta tell you Angelo, you should have kept the top of the tree..sorry my friend, gotta be honest here, if you had captured a not so beautiful or too busy tree then I might agree with you, but this tree is so beautiful and so wanting to be a part of this picture. On the other hand, it's a lovely image, the sky is gorgeous, and I like the tall grasses in the foreground, the slight touches of red are very nice...I can't tell where you did your PS work, so good job there...beauty is in the eye of the beholder and art is very subjective, I know I've said that before but for me Angelo this image is all about that tree...that's where my eye goes immediately.....:):)Linda

Pooriya, thank you for looking and for your poignant question. The head of the tree is cut because I ran out of wide angle on my lens :) I wanted to be this close to the termite mound and I wanted to include all of it.

I didn't think taking a step back and including all the tree would improve the image.
