I've got most of my bird shots through a window as well. With the cardinals, I don't think you could get them naturally. They are just too shy!
I think he looks great!

Nice and as you would expect, the male is the "more colorful" of your two images. Del.

I think this is outstanding, Rebecca! The bright red stands out so beautifully against the white and gray background, and the DOF is perfect to keep the busy BG from distracting the eye. Really well taken photo!
Sorry about your friend - I'm sure he/she appreciates what you did!

Beautiful shot Rebecca. I think your Cardinals head north to Canada for the summer. Do you have Blue Jays in the winter there as well?

This was taken through glass? Well I must say you have very clean windows at this time of the year! Beautiful capture Rebecca. Is that bird food left on the corner of his mouth? :-)

Gabrielle, Cardinal is the State bird for Illinois. A lot of them in Northern Illinois.

Gabby, I think they're all over the south. We had more in Louisiana and Texas, than I see here. You can share this photo with me :)

My " Office" as I call it, is at home. A room to work on the computer, to display a million photos. I am not at work, for sure. I work in a correctional facility that houses about 550 inmates. There are no windows there to look out. I do step outside for breaks, so I do get a chance a couple of times an evening to see the sky. I sat these old tree limbs and an old bird bath on the deck, so that a friend of mine who is terminal, could sit here and watch the birds eat. So far, I don't think he's watched a one. But I watch many as I sit here. Thank for your continued supportive comments. They're always greatly appreciated. Sincere Regards, Rebecca

Wow... the best of your bird's series.
Beautiful color of the bird with seeds in the beak and perfect background of a meshwork of tree branches...
You're lucky to have such wonderful view from your office dear Rebecca,
Good work,
Khaled.

You're back! Beautiful shot, the bird really stands out nicely from the background, but he's all in focus, so good choice of DOF. Nice framing of the shot, with the fountain, too.

Great shot of a very beautiful bird. Excellent depth of field like in all your bird images. Fantastic color contrast. I like this one more than the ones with the small branches in front of there bodies. These little beauties sertainly help you to get bored a little slower and please don't die because me and I'm sure a lot of people here on UseFilm want to see more of these wonderful pics you do upload here....Big hug, Harry

Greeting Rebecca,
Very beautiful image, With good detail and clearity, Cardinals are very skiddish were I live. They will show up to my bird feeder just before a storm and the female is the brave one, They tend to spook at the slighest noise or movement and are not easily viewed except with a good pair of binoculars, Contrats on a well presented image, best regards, Sandra

Rebecca, I'm curious over the 'About' comment. I thought this a really attractive picture. Wonderful colours and that touch of additional detail around the beak.
