Dear Rebeccca, this is the forth (?) time i use this photo. There must be something in it that draws me. This time it is to tell you that a fire broke out in the house next door to the garage we put our car in for routine maintenance. The fire made some concrete blocks fall off the wall and one of them crushed our car, including the windshield. Nobody was hurt as the fire broke out at night and everything was insured. Today we have already ordered a new Peugeot of a somewhat better level than ours and we hope to get it within a fortnight. Please remind me to send you a photo of the new car. It will be blue. Best regards, Rafi

Dear Rebecca, I hope the book has reached you safely. In my e mail I forgot to tell you that Rachel, my wife, was head nurse in a cardiac unit for 25 years until she retired three years ago. Best regards, Rafi

I am an LPN working in a corrections facility for the last 4 years. I had worked mainly in cardiology before. I would be very interested in your material, Dr. Springmann, as we deal with the mentally ill on a daily basis. Thank you for thinking of me. My email is REBLNVA@AOL.com

DEar Rebecca, I know that I already commented on this photo. I return to it to tell you that I added you to my friends' list. I also learned that you are a nurse and I am intertested in the profession you are a nurse in. If you happen to be a psychiatric nurse, or if for some other reason you are interested in psychotherapy, send me your e mail address (mine is in my bio) and I will send you my book "Dialougues with Schizophrenia - the Art of Psychotherapy" by e mail at no cost to you. The book deals not merely with schizophrenia but with various aspects of psychotherapy, including coutertransference, supervision and the theoretic inter-relation between these latter entities. It was written with the non mental-health professional also in mind. Best regards, Rafi

Beautiful blue sky, ivory concrete, horizontal slats. All seemingly innocuous until the sharp knuckled hand holding the dangerous spike creeps in. Very well seen Rebecca.

Are you having nightmares, dear Rebecca? I can refer you to a good analyst, namely me... Seriously, however, there is something nightmarish in the way you captured this shadow and it achieves the purpose you aimed for. Thank you for your very friendly comment on my "Rhapsody (corrected in the original) in blue". Best regards, Rafi

lol Dirck, it's hard to say what that is extending! It's on the wall of the old jail. The new one is across the street. I love the way it looks like it is emerging from the window. Thanks for the comments and inspiration.

Lol - I did see a shadow of Freddy Krueger hand, especially after reading your title! (is that his middle finger he's extending!? :) I love the bright shock of blue along the top of the frame! Nicely seen, Rebecca!

I hope this is the start of a nice long series. The most difficult thing of all is to take a photo of nothing and make it into a thing of interest and beauty. No problem for you, of course. These last two are really exciting.

Great lines, and color contrasts, the shadow is really interesting and the way we can't see what creates it adds all the more to the photo. Alison

Great idea Rebecca...and very different to all the others. Would it look more abstract if the horizon was straightened?

Dave, this is from a street light. In the evening it casts a shadow..but lately, the angle of the sun leaves this image. Thanks as always for your comments and inspiration. :)

yep -- keep 'em in your pocket -- remember you can never step in the same river twice -- oh, there were so many times past that I said "if only I had my camera" and I returned layer to the scene only to see a different and not so great play of light - great shot - good eye. K ... and yes silly me ... I just saw Freddy --- even better! GREAT SHOT
