Hi Alexander, I used a screw-on macro filter with my 50 mm lens, but with the right telephoto lens you might not need a macro lens at all... the Gerbera Daisy is a medium sized flower. I probably could have used my 240mm lens, but I think that the DOF would have suffered.

I think it is gorgeous! Great clarity too apart from the warm colors. Now that you have influenced my mind with your comment I am trying to guess what the "true" color of this flower might be. Bottom line on that is that I don't think I care :-) Your velvia shots inspired me go get a roll for myself - my first roll of slides in over five year, and I must say I enjoyed it very much.
