Hi Kim, Love the use of filters; it produced an excellent tone, and creates a very intriguing and special mood.... I like this one alot. The yellowish brown colours have a very nice contrast with the purple / blue tones in the sky. Lovely setting too. I think the right side is quite well balanced; the dark mountains and the gradient to black on the left compensate the heavy patches in the cloudsand the shrubs on the right. Looking at this one, I think I need to play with filters more....:) Great shot
Thanks for your comment on http://www.usefilm.com/image/290431.html; The model likes to be in front of a camera; ask her to look angry, and she looks angry. Give her a cup of tea, chat away, and she's completely relaxed. Very easy to work with. The soft tones are mainly caused by the lighting; the yellowish glow of my softbox produces that effect; besides, the flash wasn't hooked up; so the slow shutter and discoloration of the film increased the warm tones. And I lost some sharpness during scanning, but I liked the effect on the entire series. A bit more contrast and a harder/sharper image would've probably be more suitable for this mood.
Cheers,
Hugo

The colors are very interesting and I see what you mean by saying the right side is 'heavy' but I think that makes the image interesting. It would be boring to have an image that's the same on the left as on the right. This gives some kind of contrast of the dark clouds and the orange colors. I think without the 'dark right' the picture would have been... boring? less interesting I mean. So I like the picture the way it is. Well done.

Hello Kim!
Very well composed, nice ladnscape and wonderfull moment. The right side for my oppinion gives the image the action and a dramatic moment images should have... thanks to the dark cloud it is more special as it would be otherwise. Friendly greets Andrej
PS: Thanks on your comment.

Thanks to the recent comments... this one always takes me back to the lovely time of autumn. Chris, the Tokina lens has been a godsend. I use it all the time. It's super sharp, only slight disortion at the 19mm side and I managed to pick one up on Ebay for $140 US. No complaints here! I also looked at the Nikon, but I couldn't justify the bill right now in my "hobby".

Kim,
Excellent color with a nice composition. I do have a question, how do you like the 19-35 lens? I am looking for a good super wide angle and the Nikon one is out of reach price wise. I use a lot of Tokina lenses so I am hoping it's nice.

The right side doesn't feel heavy to me either, though that one dark cloud on the far right looks a little out of place.
The orange filter really makes this photo spectacular. Very autumnal. I wish the path was a little more prominent so it would lead the eye into the photo more and break up the foreground a bit.
Lovely sky. I almost wish the sky from this photo was combined with the foreground in Culture Cairn. (Post script: a hatchet job in PhotoShop proves how so very wrong I can be sometimes. Most of the times. . . .)

Your colors are absolutely vibrant, reflecting the orange warmth. Wsa the right side in the clouds, causing it to be darker? Great image! Regards, Mike

Thanks so much for taking a look, everyone, and thanks for the comments. Seems like Howard and I are the only ones who think maybe the right is too heavy... maybe I'm being overly critical of my work (it tends to happen everyone once in a while.. hahahhaha)
