About Taken at the Calgary dog park, which overlooks the Rocky Mountains. It was a clear day to see out to the mountains and I set up waiting for the sun to set. The enhancing filter really helped to bring the colour to life in this one. Only PS done was to remove dust spots and resize.

Kim, I think this is definitely better. It is so much more interesting than the latest one, just entered. The highlights in the sky are super, and I like the backlit trees distant right. It is a grande sky image!

I will TRY to explain, since I am so new at this and I really did tinker. But I can give you an idea anyway. I sharpened the entire image, then blurred the bottom foreground...(had too much noise down low after sharpening) I added some yellow to the entire image (cannot remember how much...20 points maybe??)then I broke the sky into three sections. The top third, I believe I added 50-60 or so points of yellow only. The middle section I took out 15-20 or so points of yellow hue (gave it a pink cast) And the botom third (not including the foreground) I think I added a bit...maybe 10-20 points of yellow again. I like the composition but thought it would help to break up the reds a bit. Hope this helps some. It was fun!

Hello Vince...
I don't mind at all if you tinker, but can you let me know how you tinker so if I want to try to recreate something similar I know how??? *grin*
Thanks!

I like this too Kim. Since just receiving photoshop on Friday...I wanted to tinker a bit. Hope you don't mind my playing around with your sunset. Wanted to offset some of the reds.

Les, thanks for the comment... I used an Tiffen enhancing filter on this shot, which takes colours from the red, brown, orange and yellow spectrum and makes them more prominent. It works well for sunrises, sunsets etc.

Here is a pic I took while in Sask. with the sky on fire:

Ahh! Prairie Sunrises! Many a time I have awoken early and sensed there was fire outside my bedroom window. Pinks and reds dancing off the clouds.
I simply should get out and take some shots. I need to find a site to go to and set up. Your picture is at dusk. Out here, I find that sunrises are more spectacular.
Nice capture and your horizon is straight. I remember your comments about mine. I revisited a couple of sites, yesterday, to reshoot (Stop sign and country road.
What kind of filter did you use for this?
