Wonderful Kim I Love It, maybe a little less depth of field could create more visual impact on the man and the woman , but it's really a great one!!!!!
Congrats

Oh Kim, I just love this! You can feel the concentration, and determination of the pupil! Very nice colors as well! Great work!

I think this is wonderful, Kim! The static poses, sharply defined colors and theatrical lighting really do give it that old movie poster look! Just like Bartok said, it made me think of the Chinese kung-fu movies we used to go to when I was a kid (in Chinese, with Spanish sub-titles no less!)
Becky hit it on the head with her comment about wanting to see more of the girl's legs - it would help complete that great, classic pose she's striking. The colors do have an oddly flat, even look to them, but I think that makes the shot!

I wouldn't necessarily equate a lack of comments with people not liking the image; sometimes it's just "lost in the shuffle" syndrome. I, for one, think the colours rock, espeically the saturated reds and blues. I also like the intense looks on both of the subjects' faces.

I wish this had been shot from a lower angle. I feel I would like to see more of the female's legs. Not all of them, because I think the focus should remain in the faces, but I think seeing more of her legs could increase the intensity of her pose.

I don't the colors detract from this image. It may be a little static since it is a straight-on shot of the two, but the 50's movie feel it creates for me is what endears it to me.

Reminds me of the old style Kung fu movies from China. It seems to be very busy in the background and i think that might be what is taking the impact of your photo away from the subjects. Hope you are getting time to hike around in this great weather. Cheers Bartock, in victoria. AKA....Tim Schumm

Thanks so much for the comments, Stefan... I'm not sure what part of this is not working for people...
and the lack of comments does say that it's not working.
I guess it could be the bright colours give it an unreal feel, but shots taken with a colour corrected digital camera come out the same as this fixed version, and this does closely match what the set and people looked like.

Thanks again, though, for taking the time to look and comment!

Maybe the unreal feel to this is the technicolor appearance? I really like it. Putting her dead center works well here.
