Great shot. Fia looking at the camera, in a similar body position to Neko, really adds a lot to the image.

Thanks for the comment Dave... sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you! Neko doens't get jealous at all... more like if Neko is playing with another dog Fia gets extremely jealous and will bodycheck him when he's done. It's pretty funny. The look neko is giving the camera is all because I have his tennis ball... yep, that intense stare is all for the ball. Goofy goldens! Thanks to your suggestions of getting more shots with the two of them, I have been able to get some great candid shots. Hope to see you posting again soon!

So, does Niko get jealous when you pet Fia? For my goldens, the male body-checks the female to the side whenever he realizes she is getting attention. This pose reminds me of my dogs, a lot. Thanks for posting.

An absolutely gorgeous portrait of these two, I love the intense light really bringing out their color so nicely and you have great dof. The closer one really seems to want to say something to you. Alison

Great catch of your Goldens. We also have a Retiever (just one though). I have a picture of her that won an award this summer. I'll try and let you know when I upload it. The picture is called "Maggie May". Thanks for your recent comments on "Winding Road".

Nope, Robert... they are hands down some of the best dogs in the world. *grin* Not that I'm biased or anything. Neko, the one in the foreground, loves to have his picture taken, while Fia, in the background, will do almost anything to keep away from the camera. This is why when I get a Fia pic that works it's almost always a natural shot.. not posed. I've even tried bribes with her, but no go. This was a fluke, as she just happened to be in the right spot at the right time, and stayed there for a minute or two. Thanks for the comments, Robert... always welcomed and appreciated!

Of course they are still wet, as that is their natural state of being;-)
Excellent portrait Kim, I love the way you composed this. Your models seem very interested in being portrayed on film, to the point where they must have cooperated, if only for a few seconds, with your compositional guidance. Perhaps I'm reading too much into their eyes, the way they are looking at you, but I suspect you get the feeling from time to time that there is more going on in there than we may realize. Anyway, I think this is really quite nice Kim, and really, are there better dogs than Goldens and Labs?? Nah, I didn't think so.

Outstanding, Kim - I think you saved the best for last! While the setting is simpler in this one, the portrait is perfect! The lighting is beautiful, and the catchlights in his eyes are great, giving him that sparkle that speaks of health, vigor and happiness. Having Fia form the backdrop is the coup-de-graçe!
