Hi Kim, many thanks for your comment on "Banded Demoiselle" which brought me to your fine portfolio. You have some really nice images and i'm particularly taken with your "nature" photos as this is something that i like to do. I like this one very much although i find it a little dark. It's only when you open it up that you appreciate what is in this image, and this is probably a reason why it has received less attention than some of your other work. But it IS still a very good attractive image. Well done! Best wishes from Switzerland, Neil

Hi Becky, Sorry, just finally getting around to answering your question! (oh, and congrats on cotd!) The light was coming through kitchen window and the flower was sitting on the counter near the sink, facing the window. (about 4 - 6 ft away) Thanks for the comment and talk to you soon!

I too am all about the gradient in this shot. It's very subtle, yet the difference in lighting is so pronounced, that it creates quite a stunning effect. I also like how the glow seems to be coming from inside the flower . . . where was the lightsource coming from in this shot?
Effectively composed, great tones, nice sharpness. I likes it!

Lovely shot - wasn't sure about the dark tones at first but they grew on me and really give the photo a different appeal!
