Roger I THINK I know where you're coming from. As a cultural anorexic I have avoided coldplay albums (too many hits to be trustworthy) but this was cheap so picked it up a couple of days ago. The songs from an album called parachute. All the compassion of the velvets (not really the dirt though) and also some understandings which give me the hope the planet has evolved somewhat in my thirty eight years.
