The dark window is eerie without being spooky. It so dark against the lighter colors in the picture.

I like how the thin curved branches are against the flat straight lines in the wall. Terrific work as always Rebecca.

This looks more like a painting - a pastell! Very beautiful Rebecca. In my imagination it?s very quiet there, no wind, no animals, no humans. Time stand still....

The muted colors and that soft spotlight effect work so well to show the quiet but still potent presence of this place that was once a spiritual focus for so many people.

Beautiful subtle tones--the leaves and the church play off each other well.

Thank you, Corrie for such a lovely comment. I use PS Elements more than anything else, as I'm not that well versed in PS. I have PS 6.0 that someday I'll try to learn, maybe when I take vacation and have time. When I want to add a sense of mystery, many times I use an effect called omni lighting. It's adjustable from bright to black, to suit what I'm looking for.

This is absolutely gorgeous! It brings such a wonderfully mysterious feeling....who would have ever known that such a simple, run down structure could be so beautiful? I really like the added white to the walls...softened it and lightened it nicely. Just out of curiosity, what photo shop program do you use? I really like the way you use it on your work. Once again Rebecca, awsome work!

Thanks Randy..This is an old, broken down, falling down church in the woods. It would make a lovely cabin if it were restorable. I found it last year and tried a sunset shot through the steeple, as the leaves had all fallen and was visible, but got too much of a lens flare. I'm better equipped this year, and found it again. SO I'll go back this winter for that!

Hi Rebecca, is this the same church I just said I would like to see in color? Even if it has some PS, I like this version best. Del.

You have captured this with that contradicting mood of eerie and serenity. The soft hues give it that sense of quiet and your cropping gives it a sense of disquiet. There is a wonderful soft light and then a darkness beyond that window. Very nicely done Poe.

I love the color and the look that the leaves have - they seem to glow with a transparant quality especialy in the senter - well done. K

Evocative shot of this old building, Rebecca! I like your framing by the trees on each side of the window.
