Good b&w work, Rebecca. I like all the tones. I bet early morning at the same spot would give you a great shot. You'd get longer shadows that would fill up that space that Dirck mentions.
Regards from a really wet LA.

Very nice photo. I like the range of tones throughout. And I am left wondering why there is a rock sitting atop the closest headstone..
Thanks

I tried several approaches to this shot. This was the only way I could get the shadows behind that row of stones. I've had this and the other shot on my PC since last fall, didn't really like them well enough to post. I'm bored now, it's raining and I can't get out, so here they are.. lol. I'll go back that site when I get my other camera, and try some different shots. It's a beautiful cemetary, very very old.

Love the lines and textures in this shot, perfect for b+w. There are so many possibilities. Why not try the same angle, but use your zoom on your new camera for an extreme close-up? Me, I'd lose the frame effect. I don't think it adds to your photo.

This is another fabulous shot Rebecca. Great light and wonderful shadows. The tombstones have that glow I mentioned, a sheen to them and the granite texture is apparent. I love your framing, what program did you use for it? (thanks again for your help, I am still working on it trying to give it that stand-out quality that your images have) ..best regards Christine

This has a nice range of tones - I especially like the deep black shadows of the stones, but there seems to be a lot of 'empty' space in this shot, i.e. the grass between the tombstones. Maybe the line of stones was shot a bit too straight-on resulting in the stones 'piling up' on each other? I think a slightly more oblique angle would work better, but I would definitely try to keep those great shadows!
