I love this! It's so real. You think of flowers to be perfectly perfect and how fake is that? The reality of your flowers speaks much more than just another beautiful flower... :)

Well... a lot of LA folk are a little whacko at times. :-) I've been told more than once that I fit that bill. Now, about your zinnias: they look very perky to me and you photographed them very well. Regards from rain soaked LA, Jimmy

Wonderful, the added grain and soft focus seem to work. Capturing the insect in the pink flower was especially cool. Did you stage that. Maybe you should consider the Coolpix 4300, it is so similar to the 800.

Given the dreary day you describe, you came up with some amazingly vibrant zinnias!! Overcast days are the best for flower shots anyway, in my opinion - even lighting, no harsh shadows, saturated colors all make for shots like this one! No sign of anything being broken on your camera - you must be darn good with that krazy glue. How are you with bailin' wire? :)

You may have been bored, Rebecca, but your photo is definitely not boring. Thank you for your kind comment on my "Playing with light". "Like a dream" is a compliment I will cherish. Ragards, Rafi

They are beautiful Rebecca. The colours are really eye-popping, especially love the vibrant greens. Such a nice layout and perfect cropping. Your framing with the hint of shadow is excellent.

I don't actually have glue ON the lens itself, but the lens broke off of the gizmo that moves it in and out.. I glued it back on! What can I say, I worked in electronics for years and love to rebuild things :) It's on it's final days again though. I'm buying a fuji s5000 from JP and then I'll be back in full swing lol
