This is a sculpture representing God only knows what outside the courthouse in Limerick city. The day was beautiful, the sculpture interesting to me and the sky was looking good. There's no filter or anything used to get this sky so blue. I'm grateful for the day it was!
thanks for the comments but sorry to burst the bubble on the meaningless sculpure...it wasn't taken in Dublin, it was taken in Limerick where I take most of my photos! As for the meaningless, I'd agree that I can't find anything in it. Dublin, isn't the only place with meaningless sculpture either. A case in point: there's a massively expensive sculpture at the gates of the university where I work and it is the absolute worst, most meaningless thing I've ever seen. Basically, it's a whole load of marble blocks stacked on atop the other to look like a three dimensional chess/draughts/checkers board!! So, yeah Dublin may be full of meaningless sculptures, the rest of Ireland is playing catch up!!!

I like the angle you used in your composition. The sculpture appears to loom over you. Very effective. A traditional framing would have resulted a a static and dull shot.
