What a wonderful critique from You - it was exciting to read it - and you are so generous with the tip of the wing missing -
I thought about that little problem and hoped it would not be as noticable to others as to me - but alas ...I am fortunate to be amoing professionals - all is noticed :))
These gulls have a much larger wing span than I'd realized in the past !!!

Fantastic action shot from a wonderful "equal" level viewpoint.
The composition is very good and the other seagull on the background just captured in middle of the breaking action gives this pick a bonus. Scale dimensions of sea, sky and bird are perfect. The only little imperfection I see is a tiny piece of the left wing tip missing.
I give it a 6,9 dear Michelle which is rounded to 7.0

I wish you a great 'week off working' and wonderful sunny weather - we have been getting the fog in the mornings and then sun in the afternoons so typical of summer coastal weather as it is hot weather in-land !!!

Hi Jason - Thank You for commenting and YES I was sooooo close --- just maybe 6 ft. away ---- I set up a good food trap- on the deck , my tripod inside and shot what was attracted to the food -lol!!!

Wow, Michele - looks like you were nice and close here! This guy really is putting on the breaks, judging by the tussled wing feathers.
Another point of interest - did you notice how the bird, from the beek to the feet, is making the letter 'C', your last initial?
