About The eyes of a child can ask SO many questions… actually the eyes of anyone can, but I believe children think deeper than we realize! About a month ago while I was still working at the daycare, one of my favorite ten-year-olds comes up to me, visibly beyond frustrated and upset and says:

“Doesn’t God say Hell is WAY down there? Well… if God is ALL the way up in Heaven, ‘down’ to Him must be ‘right here’ to us. We’re in Hell aren’t we?!”

The level of thought that went into that question stunned me, especially from such a young kid! It just reminds me how we all have questions and there are so many things that seem so confusing on that topic… but that God promises that if we really are looking for Him, we WILL find Him:

“‘You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord” Jeremiah 29:13-14

“If there were something more or less than clues, it’s difficult for me to understand how we could really be free to make a choice about God.” We don’t choose or need faith to believe 2 plus 2 equals 4, we don’t have the choice of whether to believe that there’s a sun shining at noon… those are beyond question. “You have to make an effort of faith to find God… if we had absolute proof instead of clues, then you could no more deny God than you could deny the sun… God gives us just enough evidence so that those who want him can have him. Those who want to follow the clues will.”

----------------------------------------------------

Taken from the amazing book “The Case for Faith” written by former atheist with a Masters in Law from Yale University - Lee Strobel, who, on his committed journey to clearly disprove God’s existence for two years, actually found the one he was trying to shoot down. It is SUCH an amazing book, I recommend it to everyone! He commits each chapter delving into so many of the common objections to the existence of God:

1. Since Evil and Suffering Exist, A Loving God Cannot
2. Since Miracles Contradict Science, They Cannot be True
3. Evolution Explains Life, so God isn’t Needed
4. God isn’t Worthy of Worship, He Kills Innocent Children
5. It’s Offensive to Claim Jesus is the Only Way to God
6. A Loving God Would Never Torture People in Hell
7. Church History is Littered with Oppression and Violence
8. I Still Have Doubts, So I Can’t be a Christian

Well, thanks for looking a this series :) Please give me any comments or corrections you want! :)

Oh yes, Mary, as a teacher I'm sure you understand then! And you are completely right, each of these eyes could tell a story... actually I bet each one could have there own biography! There is so much of a story to each one of these sets of eyes and it amazes me that as big as that is, we pass hundreds or thousands (I guess depending on where you live though, in NYC I pass a lot) of these eyes and hundreds of different stories and lives! It's so crazy and cool to me! But yes... those are so expressive, they're great kids! Thanks for the comment!

I really like this picture. Having been a teacher, I totally agree that the eyes of children express so much. Each one of your images here could tell a complete story. Each set of eyes is different. Each is very expressive. Well done.

A wonderful collage Rachel! The eyes are the windows to the soul! What an amazing 'about'! Yes, the more We learn about God the more We believe in Him! That sounds like a great book. I will try to find a copy to read! Thanks for sharing!!
