About This is the Carnegie Library in Terrell, Texas. Many small towns across America were furnished by libraries and schools by Andrew Carnegie, a multi-millionaire who came to America from Scotland and made it rich as the "King of Steel". (owner of Carnegie Steel, later becoming U.S. Steel)

By the early 1900s, he devoted his wealth and life to civic projects such as this. I'm not sure who "Homer and Virgil" were but their names also grace the building. This building was built in 1904.

This is a total experiment inspired by the post-processing work of UF's John Hatz. I love his technique and finally opened a never-used Corel Photo Paint and tried to emulate his style.

This photograph was shot in monochrome, though. And not being able to immediately comprehend how layers, burning, etc. work in Corel, I ended up taking the "line drawing" over to PS for completion (slight adjustments in PS, most were done in Corel).

Thank you, dear Ani. The hop into Corel wasn't that long... I soon gave up.... I just don't have time for a new experience. Not of that type anyway.

Hugs...

Aaaarrggghhh! I missed seeing this... how?
Brain fog? Insomnia catching up with me???

I love the effects you have applied to an already excellent "foundation" shot, Dave. (I mean, the car in the original kind of looks "out of place".)

Glad to see you hopping about from Corel to PS as well. I like to that also... :)

Love it, Hon.

Hugs~
Ani :)

Thanks, Shirley. Maybe I should change the color to green instead of sepia.

I'll print some for you too.

Very cool effect, Dave! I can see what John means about it looking like the engraving on paper money.:)

Thank you John. And if I start printing money, you'll be the first recipient after me. Seeing as how I was trying to emulate you in the first place.

Thank you, Mahassa. I couldn't duplicate this if I tried. And actually, I did try but I just don't know Corel Paint. I'll stick to PS.

Okay, I am doing this only because you owe me bunches of money and I don't want you filing bankruptcy. What I said was....

Thank you, Michele! I cannot say much to you because I am contemplating my next photo shoot and if I don't concentrate on my ideas I will lose them on an express train.

But I will have you know that I am trying to find hot air balloons in the shape of a fish.

Goodbye for the moment, Dave

Great shot, even with PSing or not, the symetry, the way you really mezure the photo for the BEST ballance is amazing...after that also the PSing is nice and unique, you left only the outlines of the shapes and that gives an idea of a ...pencil graphity, WOW....that easily could be a shape to papermoney!!! Beautiful!
Best regards!

¡Gracias, Michele!

Y sobretodo, a mis ventiladores.
