About One of my first tries (a long time ago) for the sense of depth in a geometric progress and for hard contrasts.

Any comments would be highly appreciated.

Welcome to the water

Perhaps scanning has also contributed, Yazeed. But the main reason was my own single spot mettering.

Thanks a lot,

Nick

I am thank you very much dear. I have an other idea. The Canon T70 is a film camera.
May be when we convert the photo by scanner or convert the negative with it.
Made this over exposed to the photo. I see this effect. May be...
All my regards ………………….

It has been a spot metering on the water at the depth, Yazeed, so the shadow at the right wasn't responsible for that. But the reason for the overexposure is pretty much the same. I didn't made any kind of correction and so the weaker lighting of the water made the camera think that it should expose stronger. I thought that this would enhance the contours but it was a bit too much.

Oh well, next time I'll know better!

Thanks a lot,

Nick

I am myself not happy at all with that overexposure, Ahmed, and its nice to see that you noticed it. The problem here is, how to get those hard contrasts of the branches, their reflections of the light, and still keep the background overexposed but in reasonable amounts. Bracketing is OK, but then it happens too often that we see some of the images of the bracketing, we like them very much, and we simply depart from what we wanted to do, since what we wanted to do doesn't look as "nice" as some other image of the bracketing series. A big problem to me...

Oh well, thanks heavens there are problems! They are so helpful for learning after all.

Best wishes and thanks a lot,

Nick

The symmetry here is very nice. The composition goes well with the image. The overexposure on the top is a bit distractive. But still, a very nice shot!
Regards, Ahmed
