I am not an expert either. I try to conlude according to the results of the experiments, just for embedding all the seemingly independend data in one general "theory".

Under the assertion of a wished white balance the need for a film with different response on the three elementary color layers seems to be justified at shooting time. (Not really 100% certain, but there is evidence enough for that.) Photoshop can tell us what the sensitivity curves of such a film must approximately look like, according to what results we obtain by applying certain alterations to ceratin parts of the image.

But there is also http://www.expodisc.com/ as Paul mentioned. It seems to be a very good address for this problem.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot for your work, Gustavo! Now it's... greenish? :-/

I tried the same in PS, but it didn't really help. I think that the adjustments have to be made separately at least for two different parts of the image - top and bottom. About what to do at shooting time... It must be a different film too, I guess!

Cheers!

Well, there IS a way to properly white-balance under any lighting condition, Nick: Expodisc

Thanks a lot, Gustavo! The exposure might be also not as "correct", but I don't really know. Just out of curiosity, my questiuon to you: Provided you would like to remove the blueish tint with PS, what would you do?

Cheers!

But how to get rif of it, Paul? Just in case it would be undesirable, I mean. What sounter measurment would apply at shooting time? Any hints?

(I know, I sound like "njaaaaa, can't do that. :-( )

Cheers!

Muy buena la composición, una correcta exposición da detalles nítidos en toda la foto, me gusta el punto de vista elegido, en suma, una muy buena foto.

Un abrazo!

Yes, the strong blue cast DOES present a definite melancholy mood.

Many thanks again, Dave!

I'm thinking now about exposure and Paul's suggestion. It's indeed quite on the blueish end of the spectrum, and I don't know if that was already too much. Perhaps a less exaggerated look towards the blues would make more of it? :-/

Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the suggestion and the nice comment, Paul!

Well, neutralizing the white balance... how do we do that in this case? When the balance is OK on the bottom part, it is not OK on the top part (mainly sky). And vice versa. Perhaps balance top and bottom halves separately?

And what implications would that have for the setup of camear/lens for getting a better balance right on shooting time? I must think of it a bit more, but any hint would be very welcome.

Though it does have a good impact on my eyes in its blueish overall appearance too. Doesn't it get quite a "deserted" look and feel this way?

Thanks once again!

I'd suggest neutralizing the white balance, so the shade isn't so blue. But I like the depth and detail.
