About The improved version, the aspect of skintones I want to compare from a good print with her real view, with good daylight. From memory I think this is close, but I don't see her that oft, so this could be wrong. I'll find out which improvements could be done.

Dear Albert you are sure right that the views of every image are different on other monitors. As I worked with your foto the tones, contrast were fine. I usually calibrate my monitor with spy one pro. That I have to do because the printed pictures have to have the same tone like I see on my monitor. I work for NATO as a photographer (just for the case of missunderstanding!)

The results of your lightsetting are pretty good therefore that you have improvised.

I also agree that it is great to have his own portable studio. You saw the results of my portraits from Kjell, Natascha and Pascal.

I have bought one for work, and the time I don't need it there I have it at home. My daughter loves to use the studio too. She is following the footsteps of her dad. ;D

My dear friend, I haven't done this before, but I will give you my email. I like the conversation with you, and I'm pretty excited changing experiences with others (like you).
So if you like we can chat or webcam with each other. And maybe there is a chance to know each other a little better.
Here my email. saschajonack@hotmail.com

All the best and good light!:)
Sascha

Hi Sascha,

Your welcome and thanks for your nice contribution. After looking several times at the B&W I have the idea that my version has to much "red" in the tones and your version to much "green". I may be wrong, it might be the influence of the monitor ?
So prints might look different in the tones.
There was no flash used with these portraits of Sophie. At that time I didn't have one. Now I use the SB80DX flash.
These were shots just one week before her daughter Lotte was born. She wanted photos of herself being highly pregnant. So I had to improvise and used two tungsten lamps of 300 and 500 watt (never did this before).
It worked and there are a few very nice photos, but for her private use only.
This tungsten light didn't have the right colourtemperature. A portable studio set is on my list of wishes, because I want to do more with portraits.
I see Sophie, Huub and Lotte next saturday for a nice chat and some shooting, so I'll ask what see thinks of the different versions colour and B&W.
I also want to compare the skintones of some prints with her real skintones to find out if and how my personal preferences in memory (mis)guid me. Hope I gave you a closer explanation.

Wish you and yours all the best and thanks again,
Albert Jacobs

Hi Albert,
thanks for sharing my advice. I changed your version a little. I have added more contrast and blured it. Because of the reflection from the flash I used the patch tool to get the refelxes away. I think it works good. What do you think?

Regards Sascha

Hi Sascha,

Thanks, for your comments. I added a B&W version of this portrait. Tones are still not quite what I wanted, but as close as possible.

Friendly greetz,
Albert Jacobs

I just thought how it will look like in B&W. I think it might work pretty good. The Background is dark and her face has a very god light.
Maybe it is worth to try it.
Alles Gute, Sascha

Hello Again Albert, I wasn't happy with the previous adjusted copies so had another go at it. This time I used the new program from Adobe called "Light Room".

I am quite pleased with this result but of course I have no idea as to whether it is closer to reality than the other images. I also used "Neat Image" to soften the facial skin a little.(Neat Image is available as a free download or you can purchase the more advanced version).
