Many many thanks for the nice detailed comment, Mary. The bow of the ship was not as raised as the photo implies, but keeping the lense at 35mm and holding the camera not exactly parallel to the boat but a bir downwards to the water was enough to "exaggerate" this raise. In wide angle one "normally" doesn't want to have such changes of the real geometry, but I think that they are a blessing in disguise.

This is a great perspective for this shot. The raised bow of the boat and the wake of the water really give a sense of the motion as the boat makes its way along. The sparkle of the water is lovely.
