In case of an old wall of a house, it seems that nothing can preserve memories so well as does a garden around it. Memories relate to flowers, it seems somehow...
and thank you for the great comment. Yes, that kind of remembrance must play a big role for such images. The overall friendliness of the place implies that human beings must have been often there. Then the old wall gives us the proof of human activity in the past.
But still something remains that one is hardly able to put down to words, for me at least.
Maybe I can help Giuseppe rationalize the reason for this image. This is a beautiful example of the kind of image that you and I were talking about a couple of weeks ago. If you let your imagination run wild, you can visualize 100 year old families having a picnic on this very spot. Perhaps a gardener tending flowers 150 years ago. Two young lovers 200 years ago, making promises while leaning against the wall, out of sight from the main house? It is all there. You just have to use your imagination :) Andre
I like this photo even if it is difficult for me to rationalize the main reason. I like the blossomed flowerbed in the angle, sure. I like the bare wall in face to it. This is unchanged in the time passing, old; that is different every morning, always young. This contrast may be ... Anyway I like it! Have a pleasant weekend Nick.
