David: I started trying to photograph them in July, 2002. We had dozens of them hanging about our two feeders on the back deck. Now, I go looking for them. Peak season here is about six weeks. You need some sort of close-focusing telephoto and a flash to fill in the shadows. My keeper ratio has climbed from about one in a hundred to, maybe, three or four in a hundred. Good luck.

I'm always fascinated of those perfect captures of hummingbirds. They are so smalla nd fast, its hard to get them at all.
I have to try something like that some time.

Jason: Thank you for the kind comments. It may be a very long time before a web page appears. It will take a bit of momentum on my part which is lacking now. Perhaps in the spring, if all goes well.
