Wow . . . very stunning! Did you use any filters, or was this au naturel? I like the texture in the water and how it contrasts with the smooth sky. The orange reflection in the right-side railing is a nice touch too. I feel the foremost lamp post is a bit overwhelming, but that's a minor nit. Great work. :)

Thanks for the kind comments folks. Jim, Its the municipal pier in Manhattan Beach California and I agree it needs more space to the right. No its not one of the parking lots Eric. Its up on the Life Guard tower. If you go up, be sure to ask permission and try not to block the life gurad's view of the surfers trying to hit the pylons! It also a great place to get images of people. Itsy bitsy bikini girls don't tend to look up! Still working on the levitation thing- John

The light globes provide the information on perspective that is lost in the shadows. Very clever--especially the closest one being so large,,. And that beautiful sky makes a wonderful backdrop. The sea looks an unreal colour but I'll just have to believe Velvia on that one!

This place looks familiar. (-: After taking a few pier photos it quickly becomes difficult to find some new angles. Looks like you found one here and an excellent sunset this evening also. Nice work!

Beautiful colors. My nit would be to have a little bit more of that beautiful water in the frame to the right of the pier. Great exposure! Where is this?
