Fantastic. I agree that it might also do well if cropped to square dimensions, as Richard Thronton suggested. Works nicely as is, too!

chris, if you have to learn something, it is not to be too modest about your photographic work. you have wondeful ideas and the rest is learning by doing and, small wonder, overpower yourself by sorting out what is not 'just right' (as everybody with some selfrespect and experience will admit).
this is an extreme position and well captured. i can feel the pressure of the wind driving the vessel through the waves.

Actually this kind of photos doesen't intetersts me very much. But this photo is shining. I felt the wind Chris.. i see in this photo well formed clouds, very good light, good perspective and vision of a good photographer. Very powerful image. Congratulations..
I'm respecting you about your rating approach. Maybe this is very good idea for increasing meanly comments..

True Chris, I think the current composition as opposed to square (by cutting the left part off) is better, due to the sail being in motion, catching the wind, and using it to move.

Thank you all for your kind comments. Since the option to remove ratings was enabled, I prefer not to use the ratings as I don't find them helpful, whereas your comments are all of interest!
Richard, I had a look at the square crop - it does have impact, but personally I prefer the original as I think of the sail as a moving object and like that it has space to move into, if that makes any sense at all! :)

This is a great sky. I think this would work well as a square composition, pretty well filling the frame. There would still be enough sky to give contextural meaning.
