Thanks for responding to our questions Louise. I read about a photographer who did a piece for either Outside or National Geographic Adventure, don't remember which magazine or his name at the moment, but he had a monopod type set-up clamped to his top tube. He was shooting a Nikon F100, pre-focused with a wide angle lens, shutter priority mode. He had a cable release screwed onto the body and kept it in his mouth, tripping the shutter by biting down. He actually took this out on real mountain bike trails, chasing the other riders and experimenting with various shutter speeds. I think I remember him having one pretty good wipe-out and maybe destroying a flash in the process.

1 freakin' comment??? I guess the usefilm community just doesn't have the 'balls' to recognize.

As for the techs of the image, very nice stitch. Of course it would be nice if the light was less contrasty, but hey, it can't always be overcast when we go out with paddle and camera in hand.

I haven't paddled whitewater in a few years now, mostly cause all my paddling buds are married with children now. Not that I was good enough to throw a steep creek like this, but I managed to survive a few class 4 runs. Later.

I've never seen a shot of Cades Cove quite like this before. The camera format looks great here, more so since you have some favorable light and those clouds over the mountains. I'm wondering, had it just rained? It looks that way to me because of the lack of haze in the air. People who haven't been here won't realize just how difficult it can be to get this shot with the lighting just right, a lack of haze in the air and what's that I see, or rather don't see, by golly there are no cars. Rare indeed. Nice shot.
