The lens works really well here, super colours and sharp. Nice one.

Well caught, and the depth of field is well handled. Just shoot that stupid photographer in the backgroud wearing a RED shirt!!!

these new shots are super Roger, very colorful. this one I love the "tranparency" of the baloons, a tribute to the lens (and the photographer ! )

Thanks Jimmy, you have no idea the trouble this shot gave me!!! I thought it was uneven development, turned out to be a paw print!! Mine!!! cleaned the neg and started again, i'm glad you folk think it was worth it.
Best wishes
john.

Lucky you visiting this place!! Although I cannot look at Yosemite photos without thinking about a TV programme we had about a super volcano!!! Lovely shots though. I'm now a bit rusty with AutoCAD!!

No Jimmy it is slightly toned, I'm not too fond of just using Greyscale, I always scan B/W film as color neg and work from there. Greyscale always looks too cold and like a newspaper photo for my taste.

A small (polite ) suggestion to complete the attractive soft/sharp vintage look. I imported into photoshop, converted from greyscale to RGB, then using hue/saturation with the colorize button checked added a slight sepia tone. I find greyscale itself rather cold, and when printed looks fore like a newpaper photo than a silver bromide print.

Roger I see what you mean, this IS a beautiful shot, it has that elusive soft/sharp look which is very attractive. I will send an e-mail with a suggestion.(polite of course )

Thanks for the comments Jimmy, hope you are doing well. My Dad taught me to look at things and see details, to look at how things are made. He was an engineer. A saddle tank engine is a small "switcher" with the water tank over the boiler. The B & O used to have them, but you are much too young to remember!

Thanks for the compliment Kamran. I know when our cat looks at you like this, its time to retreat, claws will follow, and blood shortly thereafter!!

Lovely shot of the four wheeled Studebaker "wurlitzer" They don't make em like that any more, at least they tried to be different unlike todays boring clone cars!

More likely camera shake, I find if I have been walking briskly I have to stand for a moment to let the heart rate slow to avoid this!! Its sadly an age thing.

Love this Roger, nice capture. You would never see this scene in England, the place would be knee deep in litter and fag ends!!

Good architectural shot roger, that new lens looks good to me!! I wonder why city planners like monorails, they are so much more intrusive than a simple light rail system!! But make good photos!!

Nice shot! There is another picture here too, cropped just above the road to include the line of bushes. I didn't know there was so much greenery near Tokyo.
