Hi Sean,

Another great building-with-reflections photo. I think your imagination in finding and your skill in executing these kinds of photos is a real gift. You could put together a whole exibit with these kinds of images (and I'd pay to see it:-)

Best regards,
SteveR

This is amazing, and something that the architects need to look at as a concept. Very well seen and captured. Th colours of the buildings makes it even more special and real. Excellent! Regards, Aleksandar.

just beautiful mixture of colours! It is close to poentilism, with few drops of impressionism. What a lovely combination! The bench makes it steady and peacefull contra leaves, who makes it unrestfull and exciting. The momentum is great, as it is natural and something that wakes up memories. Good composition as well. Too bad there are no two benches in the upper part of the picture, it might give some other feeling in all this. Very well done, congratulations! Regards, Aleksandar.

Great eye, Sean!

I very much like your framing of the old building, with its nice arched windows and highly-detailed facade, next to the glass-and-steel, rectalinear monolith. A wonderful composition as well as an effective social/architectural commentary.

As a suggestion, I might like to see the older building a bit lighter. Are you planning to shoot more of this pair of buildings? I'd bet there are lots more possibilities at different times of the day.

BTW, I know Jersey City a bit... I went to college next door in Hoboken! Long live Hudson County! :-)

Best regards,
SteveR

This photo pulled me to it. I like it - it is very creative. I like the contrasts as you say also. But I think that I would have liked to see a little less exposure on the outside to see some of that fine texture in the brick work. But of course that might cost a silouetted window. I don't know. I guess even at this state you could play with it in Photoshop and see what the effect would be. It is interesting, however and creative.

E,

I did try that and this was the steadiest of all the shots... the other one's were way to shaky with the wing...

Sean, I can't tell you what you should or should not have done in this shot. What I will say instead is what I would have tried.

I think you had the right idea here and it looks pretty good. I would have tried to have the shutter open a lot longer so the light streaks are unrecognizeable and the wing is the only thing in the shot that makes sense. REALLY hard to get it right without a tripod, but I think if you shove the lens right up against the window you can hold it fairly steady. Next flight, try again!

Is interesting the motion that the airplane gave to the photo.

Sean,
I really like this image, interesting pastel browns and grays. Great detail and composition, the beams of light draw the eyes right to the center of the image.
Good Work!!

thanks for your comments... i could have toned down the horizon, but i thought the sundown burning oranges helped add to the motion and beauty... thanks again for the feedback.
