Great portrait! Excellent detail and well done composition. The contrast of the white hood works well with the shadow. I don't know if it is possible but it would be nice to see a few more highlights on the hair between the face and hood. Not critical to the photo but it may create more cohesiveness to the subject verses the background. Probably the best portrait in your portfolio. Regards --Todd

Good subject matter and focus. Crop is too tight for me and could use a little more light in the shadows. I think making a b/w would also be appropriate for the subject matter. MHO

I like the angle and depth of field but the shadows are taking over so that it is lacking the detail to keep interest. With a little more exposure I think this could have had been a real interesting shot.

nice macro. Excellent lighting and perfect rose. Would like to see a bit more detail/brightness in the green leaves to the right, but not much.

I love the mischievous look and the inaccessibility posed by the bars. "haha..you can't catch me"

Great choice of image for your hommage. Excellent color, composition and detail. With the quality of photos, choice of cameras, lenses, films and processes throughout your portfolio, I'd presume you're more qualified to make any claims on camera choices. I would have personally preferred a DSLR, but I was stretching my budget as it was. My input was for the benefit of us more humble hobbiests. Flawed as it may have been, I thought I'd share my meager experience with some of the cameras I have used or researched. I appreciate those of you who share your more extensive knowledge. I didn't even notice the point about the F8 stop (or other points). Now I am questioning my choice. Unfortunately, I'll have to live with it for now and try to live on good light and composition, or go back with the AE1...

It seems you have many friends. I know nothing of biology and after looking at your portfolio, apparently nothing of photography either... Beautiful work. I am moved. Magnifique!

A good use of this technique. I'm glad you didn't overdo it with the row of flowers to the right. I think you have just enough color to tantalize. Beautiful architecture. I can understand your admiration. Cheers. --Todd

I would love this photo if only for where it was taken. One of my favorite places on earth and "the best place to do absolutely nothing..." I may live in Virginia, but my home will always be upstate NY. Beautiful composition and color. I agree that contrast and saturation adjustments can make this from a good photo to a great one. Au naturel pleases the pros, but saturation and contrast sell (in moderation). Only the artist can decide. Did I mention I love the composition?

I like this a lot but I'm not sure entirely why. Good tonal range for a b/w except in upper right. However that dark area keeps your eye within the photo. Moving from dark to contrasting area to pleasing middle greys at the bottom is very easy on the eye and the square with the cross makes a good common theme through the eyes movement top to bottom. The horizontal line creates classic thirds and a square image above while not hindering the movement. Lastly, the organic shapes around the upper "box with cross" break up the man-made linear shapes. Maybe I do know why I like it. 8)

I like the colors, maybe slightly oversaturated (IMHO). The shadows could use some more detail. Good composition and wonderful use of repetitive diagonals throughout make it interesting to look at.

Great shot. Good detail, color and DOF. I guess I agree about the wing, but it's not bad. The subject matter is cool. Glad I'm not a mouse.

Good b/w. Your white and black points are probably as good as they get and I love the abstract nature. It took me awhile for my brain to reconcile the shapes into what they really were. The shadows make wonderful repetitive forms of the staples, slightly distorted and monochrome. The crop with the bottom and left edges showing forces the eye up and right. It's fun to look at. I think the crop is nice. You've got good balance between the cliff, pine and the tree coming in from the right. Sometimes wide angle is good..sometimes it's not needed...

Very nice portrait and good use of b/w. I think the composition/cropping and detail are excellent. I like the slight angle to make the photo more dynamic. Good subject and pose. Depth of field eliminates the little bit of background to keep focus entirely on the subject. Very well done. Bellisima. --Todd
