Hi, Awais -

Yes, it's a very special religious festival. Thai New Year (Songkran) is in April and before New Year many boys go to the wat ('temple') to learn about Buddhism. There is later a formal 'service' (as we would put it) and they change from white clothes into the saffron robes of the monk. An elder monk helps with this ritual. Having changed from white to saffron, the 'boys' return for another 'service'. Then they go outside with the alms bowls to receive food donations. It's a very proud moment for parents - and for them, too, though of course we shouldn't really think of it as 'pride'!

nice it seems to be some religious festival going on in thailand is it daily routine or this was some periodic festival
