About Subject background: I tried to create a really bold and dramatic landscape composing. Therefore I made several exposure series and ended up with this one... Hope you like the outcome... It's highly possible that I will upload different alternatives of this scene.

PS concept: Lots of work here... In a nutshell: 2 layers of different pictures, blended with subtraction

Special equipment: Hoya R72 plus B&W circular polarizer, tripod

As always: Honest feedback highly appreciated

I like also this one but eventhough it's not very important I'm not sure about the frame.
My best wishes

vg, uwe

I think you succeeded in creating a dramatic scene, the tones are very strong, the whole scene is powerful dear Thilo!

Hi Carsten,

you managed to get to the point ;-)

You're right: This is no special IR picture. I struggled with RAW and the manual WB - this doesn't seem to work together. So I combined by chance the two layers with subtraction and was quite pleased with the outcome.

best wishes,

Thilo

Hi MaLuisa,

you're probably right with the framing... I have to invest more time into that topic in the future.

thanks a lot!

T,
Lots of drama with the unsettled sky and lonely tree. They make quite a pair. Really cool.

Looks really apocalyptic ! No typical IR feeling. The sky looks like red filter + high contrast, the ground somewhat softer and ...sad, difficult to find the right expression. Compositionwise, I like the curved lines in the foreground, as counterpoint to the sky, connected by the tree.

How beautiful Thilo... This pic is a breath take for me... Really... Really... dramatic... I love how the clouds look... with the rays of the sun trying to pass, and the lonely tree that its going to fight for it life... Love it my dear friend...

What I do not like much is the framming... It would look great if it was thinner... IMO it takes out of focus some of the dramatism...

What do you think???

Cheers,

MaLuisa

This is an excellent piece of work--filled with moodiness and strength. The b&w is handled extremely well. My only suggestion would be to give it a stronger --edgier--frame. This matt seems timid for such a powerful image. Nonetheless, I find it very inspiring!

Congratulations,
--George
