About On the way home tonight I stopped along the lake shore near Just outside Duluth at the Park. the sun was just starting to drop behind the trees and the lake which had frozen over was begining to crack and break up. Notice the square patterns with 90 degree corners !They were all over the place. This shot is at 200MM ISO 400. Only downsized in PS, no other adjustments.
There were abstract patterns all over the place. hope to catch it on the morning with the sun coming up over the lake. have to get out early ;-) days are getting longer.
thanks for looking

Makes a nice abstract. You will have to take your nude along for a big center of interest and to warm things up a bit.... How about in the morning??? Don.

I agree with you, the spring can certenly (spelling?) hurry.
I love the abstract patterns, and the format works well I think. I hope you catch the same senario with a little more sunlight, the uniform gray snow/ice looks a bit flat...
Regards, Mattias

Hi JIm,
You find more interesting shots on your way to and from work!

This one is really good, I love how you've composed this. And it sure makes a great abstract!
I like the composition with the dark at the lower left.
Good job on this one, I like it a lot.
Lori ;)

Very cool shot, Jim, pun only partially intended! Forms a great abstract. Looks like you have a good viewpoint to see it from.

At first this looked like somebody welded some metal together Jim! But after looking closely this is really spectacular!!!Hard to believe the ice could crack this way!Created a really cool abstract didn't it!
Can't wait to see the early morning shot of this Jim! Well done !Take care Jim.............John

Hi, Jim. This really makes a neat abstract. I remember when we used to go ice skating on a reservour the ice would always have cracks in it - big square blocks. Had to make sure skates crossed perpendicular to the cracks or else... I'll have to keep an eye out for the a.m. photos. I do like the lighting here, tho!
