About Subject background: Venice from above, standing on top of the Campanile at Piazza San Marco. People with different colors, skins, some tables are empty, some overcrowded. Concept of the image is similar to this picture. http://www.usefilm.com/image/499049.html

Here I (verti)go again ;-)

PS concept: no special things this time ;-)

Sorry to be kind of off-line at the moment. I'm very busy with my job.

As always: Honest feedback highly appreciated.

Hi Thilo...

I'm a little slow leaving comments... I have a lot of work... I say this picture yesterday, but could not leave a comment until now...

I like very much the composition... Love the lines and perspective formed by the well aligned tables... Excellent and orginal angle.... Seeing it from the angle you took it, It is really a weird arrangement... In geneneral these places are more chaotic... and this is like everything is just well arranged... and following a pattern... It give a great sense of order...

Cheers,

MaLuisa

A strong staement on the 'regimented' lives we lead these days. Even when we are relaxing we have to fit into the 'matrix'! But still you can see people expressing individuality too. .

Hi Thilo, since you asked...;) See attached. Wasn't that much work nor distortion, and I think the unnatural element, due to the perspective is not that bad...

Cheers,

...great use of repeat lines and shapes .. I know what you mean about the job -- I'm getting crushed with work lately -- more work and less people to do it - seems to be the new American way of doing business.. K

Thilo Bayer Thilo Bayer   {K:50358} 11/10/2004
Hi Hugo,

you forget that probably a lot of Germans sit there. so the gründlichkeits-theory is well seen. ;-)

the weird geometry is part of the idea, so I won't go for a symmetrical version. If you may try this, I would be glad to see the result =)

take care,
thilo

Hugo de Wolf Hugo de Wolf   {K:185110} 11/10/2004
Hi Thilo, Very nice angle, and some good lines here! All tables neatly aligned, if you hadn't told me this was taken in Venice, I'd say it was German Gründlichkeit....;o)

Just curious, when I spotted the slight perspective, I wondered what the result would be if you corrcted this perspective. I guess there's only one way to find out, but I think it would make it a bit unnatural.

Back to the issue, very nice shot, and a very interesting shot... I'd place it in the "below your feet" project, though.

Cheers,

Hugo

Michael Kanemoto Michael Kanemoto   {K:22115} 11/10/2004
Repetition and geometry lead to difference, and unique situations in detail. I like the concept, and it is well executed.

To enhance the geometry, you could adjust the perspective to make the rows absolutely linear, but this is just a tweak.

Hi Thilo,

Take care
