Ha, i was trying to figure out where in the world you would find such a scene, until i read that i you stitched it-i'd never have guessed! Wonderful job in photoshop, it made for one amazing image!

Thilo, thats great stuff ! Funny that super wide is not wide enough, if you have 100 deg FOV, you want 130... A nice place for this kind of shot, thanks that you mention my own pano from there. Seems that our camera point was quite similar, but you included the ground - very good ! As Hugo said, detail in the shadows is superb. If I ´m picky I would guess a bright transition artifact from dosging near the edge in the building @the upper border.

Hi Thilo,
I see what you mean about landscape stitching being a little easier. (especially nature shots) I was thinking of trying one by swivelling the camera through an arc on a tripod, taking a few shots at different intervals. I suppose the same thing could be done vertically on a tripod too. I think the difficult part would come when doing architechture details combined with street like this shot. You did a nice job on this one!

wow, that's REALLY a great surprise to see you here. and to comment on my picture ;-)
You're right, there are many details here. I think this image works out even better in a large format. My intention was to capture the breathtaking experience I had when watching the scene. This was a neckbreaker for me as well ;-)
I've been fine the last months although I had some slowdowns at Usefilm due to personal reasons. Now i'm a bit reluctant as the bugs are cleaned out hopefully.
Would be great to see you back at least in mild flavour =) You were deeply missed here.

Hi Thilo, Amazing bit of architecture, and well captured. The super wide angle works well in placing all aspects in relation to eachother. Also, the angle of the light, illuminating only a bit, adds to the physical layout of the structures. I like that the shadowy areas still have plenty of details in them. Good shot!
Funny thing about this one, though. When you look closely at the many details, the image becomes a bit busy and cluttered, whereas the overview and composition of the general shapes leaves a very well balanced and pleasing impression. Intriguing stuff!
Hope you have been OK in the past months. Been very busy, but it was about time to pop in again...

yes, you described the technique very well ;-)
The manual blending is a bit tricky though as the perspective elements in the image are very dominant. landscape stitching is as bit easier. =)

Yes, the wider the better in a case like this. Stitching is the way to go and this is an ideal subject for it! I am sure that Usefilm will improve, it could hardly do otherwise. And if they find a volunteer programmer with the necessary skills, they will be able to avoid this restrictive narrow "track" with its grey borders! It IS nice to see some of my favourite photos of yours among the random selection on the right...

Great effect! By stitching three images together, do you mean that you took one image almost at floor level, the next one a little higher up and the next one almost overhead? Then blend them together in Photoshop as closely as you can?
I tried something similar the other day taking two pictures of myself using a tripod. Then I split the images down the middle and put the two halves together. Now I am sitting beside myself in the same room. I was surprised at how seamless it turned out.
Anyway your shot turned out excellent and I can't tell at all where the work was done.

WOW, what a great shot... looking at it (even on my monitor) my neck hurts... LOL!!! Wonderful colors and perspective, super stitching... seams... what seams, well if you look reeeeaaaaaaal close you can just make them out, but you did a hell of a job, good composition... well done!!! Bet standing directly under the 'circle' would make a cool shot as well, maybe laying on the ground for a bigger effect... just be careful you don't get arrested... LOL!!!

Wow this is amazing dear friend, absolutely!! Well the stitching is seamless, that I can say and the composition is WOW..Very interesting, I like it a lot..very interesting architectural abstract, makes me think of being at a fair or someplace like that..great light and exposure, but this one really is all about composition, and personally I think it's very impressive!!
