I should have looked at your other photos before commenting on your "coming home" one; then I should have not asked where you stood to take that picture. With this one, it shows us an interesting view. after looking at this one, I will ask you whether with these four giant ship carrying thousand of people embarking this small island are full of tourists making it noisy place. Nice picture!!!! Looking at it I wondered too how they were docked there... I just imagine the cruises as if they were cars and imagined how it would be it they had to dock between spaces...hehehehe... (Just a little bit of imagination)
Very good composition!!!
I agree with everybody, the rooftops seem a little bright, but also give effect to the composition....

Hi Hugo,
Thoose red roof tops are very peculiar. My guess is the color or the type of paint used. I got another photo that will be posting soon that will show it better. Just wait a little.

Hi Raamses, nice shot. Amaising how large these cruisers are compared to the other details in the photo. Quite an unusual sight, and the subdued light works very well in creating a slighty omnious atmospere. Maybe that's besides the point and the story behind this shot (as this photo is more of a reportive one) but it does have an effect on the image.
I agree with Andy about the red roof tops, but I like this shot, good capture, my friend!

LIFO...haha. I always knew cruise ships were run by accountants. Nice shot, Raamses. I like the bright, sharp colors in the foreground, offset against the soft haze on the horizon.

I guess they use the LIFO method (Last in First our). This is the only thing I can think of based on the advailable area to manuver.

Hi Andy,
To anwser you question. It was easy, I took a this photo from an obserbatory platform on a hill close by over looking the docks. Then I set the lens at 24mm (wide angle) and was it.

Very nice picture, how do they get those boats in there? The red roof tops on the hill seem a little bright, they keep jumping out at me.
