Angkor Wat, in Cambodia, was the main temple in the Khmer era (during 800 - 1250 AD), when buddhism originated as a religion. It is he biggest religious complex in the world and was rediscovered about 150 years ago. Before the rediscovery, it was known only by the locals. The towers of Angkor rise high above the jungle that surrounds the complex. This place is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places one can visit, but as more and more people come here every year, it quickly deteriorates. Unfortunately, the company that exploites Angkor isn't protecting it. Ealry in the morning and at the end of the afternoon, everybody can enjoy sunrise and sunset. Have fun, Jeroen
