About This is Detian..... it may not be the biggest, or most well-known waterfall in the world, but it certainly is one of the prettiest and less travelled to. The wide angle lens I used has caused a bit of chromatic abberation in most of my photos, but now that I no longer use it, this problem has been rectified.

Thank you very much sir. in fact, this was one of my first images shot with a digital camera, having only purchased the Fuji S5000 a few months before going to Detian Waterfall. Your suggestion on the wide angle is noted... I hope to go back there again this summer, and redo the photos done previously.

I've definitely learned a lot in the past four years of digital photography, most of it from others on Usefilm.

hi tabitha.... this photo was taken in april when the water at detian was rather low (and my digital photography skills in their beginnings). i went back in june last year and took the other photos that you can see in my portfolio, and the water was much more voluminous and the photos so much better.

thanks so much for looking that these pictures ~ james

It?s beautiful!!!
I just don?t have words to describe this shot. You got a 10 in composition and 10 in exposition. The use of the rule of thirds here enhances the scenery, the silhouettes on the ship? with the person well iluminated at the side goes pretty nice with all the amazing landscape behind, everything?s well balanced.

For the sharpness, that i don?t find it a problem, maybe you could have tried a smaller aperture to give it a wider depth of field, but as i said, i find your picture flawless and breathtaking.

Best Regards!

Hi Kevin. There's a fair amount of mist coming off the falls. That's the reason I think these two photos (from Detian) aren't as sharp as other shots might be. If there's a way to make them sharper, either with the camera or in PS7, I'd like to know how to do it. However, I'm quite happy to leave them as is.

Really nice picture but I would like to see more sharpness in the falls. Good job!!
