Hey Mike, Your old friend Mike here. Looks good. One thing, check out most catalogs and you will see the clocks are almost always set for 10 after 10. It may seem trite but it is the best visual balance for analog clock hands. I have been so trained that anything else looks awkward to me. But one rule I believe in is all rules are meant to be broken. If this is what you wanted then so be it.

Mary...thanks for the comment and suggestion. This clock was actually running (although the time isn't right) and I didn't even think of balance on the clock. Artie...i agree, i should have used a reflector, i even had 3 reflectors in my office but i didn't cross my mind. This was taken outside because I get better pictures (i am not good at putting up lighting), so the background is grass and field. I guess my dropcloth would have worked better in this situation.

I am drawn to this photo, can't say exactly why. One question: would the image be improved any if the second hand was not so closely aligned with the hour hand? Seems that if the second hand was pointed more toward the '8' or '9' position, things would appear more balanced. Otherwise, it is a nice image to me.

toning is nice Mike....very back counter even though you got a good blur is distracting...however if this clock was lit better the background would be less obvious....the base and front is going too dark...fill reflector would have brought that up nicely and a fill to the camera right to add shaping and bring out the carvings would have yielded a stronger image..
