ok this has no emotions flowing through the women, that it's a work of art. I bet she would have a ton of stories to tell the world about life.

This is such a weird and cool photograph, I don't know what to say. If I said she sure looks eccentric and could be from that movie where they killed visitors to turn them into sausage for sale, what if she turned out to be your mother or sister? But I'm sure she's very nice and she listens to polka music on her radio with her stuffed doggy........Randy

Woow what an expression on the face of the women. She gives me the creeps. A really hard glace on the face. Wonderfull expression caught in this picture. (this look, is it for the picture or is it always this way?) Looks like she is a bit noddy!! Greets, Lex

I think Richard said it well. Gotta love that dog peeking out behind her - a little comic relief from the severity of her gaze.

Sorry about the email, I'll send a better when the scanner is fixed. This portrait is well captured. It's the look in her eyes that she sees you but she doesn't. As your title suggests, neither quite here not there.

Very interesting "Americana" type of portrait. No offense to the person intended, but the face looks like an "amalgamation"--like it represents more than one person or even sex. You're truly a font of interesting character studies!..:)

It's the knot. The knot says it all. The knot knows. The knot scares me, for it knows too much.

Hi Sandy! Quite a confronting portrait; probably because the centered composition and the prying eyes of the woman. Nice backlight, and very well exposed. Don't think you used a fill flash, (maybe a spotlight on the right? Anyway, the lighting is excellent, as is the Depth of Field. Well done, a very intense portrait.
Cheers,
Hugo
