You look as cold as a frozen penguin there sandy! The look on your face tells that Jack frost has claimed your feet...and you're goin nowhere...

Great title, I love the concept behind your photos. It?s a very cold place and it?s freezing my eyes, it seems a polar zone, nowhere to go indeed, fast or slow; I like the fantastic halo and also I think it would be beautiful in B/W. Hugs Max

Sandy, I keep coming back to this and am just not quite with it. I wonder too things rather than just lightening the face, would it work better to lighten the whole area above the shoulders and second have you considered converting this to a grey scale or sepia toned photo? If you went sepia, I might consider adding a heavy grain...

Even in the cold, with no where to go, the stoic figure has time to survey all her lands as the people bow in reverence.
I really need to lay off the cold medicine...

Pose, angle and colors all work really well together. The halo is a nice touch too. "Nowhere fast" isn't exactly what I see, but no matter. To me it is more like "what now?", or maybe "now, what?" :-)
